I have to wait another MONTH for the next part? OH NO!I thoroughly enjoyed both Part 1 and 2 of this series and I have never liked a series before.
Stephanie Bond has written this series so well. I really like Marigold and the machinations around her situation are riveting! The sister's exploitation, the parents haggling, the friend's drama, the miracle around one of Marigold's room-mates - it's all there. I like the detective best and feel hs is trustworthy but the cliffhanger ending came - as Americans say - right out of left field!
The character of Marigold is so likeable. The days when she is hearing the worst from her family and friends, she treats the secrets she hears with a dry humour which is very engaging.
I am desperate for Part 3! The problem is that for me - and probably everyone else who is enjoying this series - we bolted through the first and second parts in an hour or so and now we have to cool our heels and wait for the next installment. :(

Once again, Bond's writing has left me unable to move until I finish the book! The serial approach is like reading a diary, only better!
Who would have thought that a serial short could have so many twists and turns. Very entertaining!
Gotta go...coma girl part 3 awaits!
I enjoy books by Stephanie Bond. Easy to read as she develops characters and story. However, I hated that i bought 6 novelets to get the whole story. Don't understand why she did not put in one book. Would not recommend buying the story unless you plan to buy all 6 .
Working as a nurse for over 45 years I can identify with this story. You never know what level of consciousness coma person is at. You always remember that when working with them!
With that said you have me hooked, on the edge waiting to see what will happen next but as an avid reader then this is what I expect from a Stephanie Bond book.
Coma Girl has yet again brought every reader on an adventure that takes them up and down on an emotional rollercoaster. It explores new themes and it has the readers cheering and urging for our antagonist, Marigold Kemp, to lift a finger. Over Marigold's time bed ridden, everyone thinks she's not listening. Some dare to say it and some are open with what their view on Marigold's coma may be. Some think she isn't listening and Marigold has them fooled. While being what some dilute as a short, lovely slumber that Marigold could wake up from any day now, she learns and listens and finds that maybe there is some hope left for her case. A bombshell hits at the end of the book and any reader will be curious to see how Marigold handles it this time.
This is the next month of coma girl's life in a coma. You would think there is not much to say in a book where the main character is in a coma, that it would keep you hanging in suspense of what will happen next BUT it does! It's funny and sad and I keep turning the pages faster and faster to get to the end but yet I don't want it to end just yet. I just hope coma girl wakes up and really gives it to some of these characters! I am now buying book three but before I start reading again I really need to get some housework done because I can't put the book down once I start reading again.
I am really enjoying this story. Marigold is getting more and more interesting and I find myself trying to solve her case and getting frustrated right along with her. Also, I am not a fan of her parents and as of right now the only one I seem to trust is the detective. And just when I thought her situation was getting better Stephanie hit me with an ending I never saw coming!
I read this in one sitting and now I wait for part three which fortunately is only a month away but It will feel like forever.
Thanks Stephanie for a great book! I look forward to the next and highly recommend Part 1 and 2!
I just finished reading Coma Girl 2 and I'm dying to read the next month. When a series is this compelling impatient readers like myself are going to have an agonizingly difficult time waiting for the next part/month! LOL And the jaw dropping cliffhanger on which August ended on intensifies my eagerness for the next part. Initially, when I considering whether to read the serial I had my doubts about whether I'd like a serial in which the main character was in a coma. I thought that it would be too depressing. Moreover, generally I dislike the usual price gauging technique that usually accompanis a serialized format. In actuality, so far the series has taken me through a multiplicity of emotions. I've laughed, I've wept, and I've felt empathy, anger, outrage, comfort, sympathy, anxiety, delight, enlightenment. It's like an indepth study of human beings when they are unaware that anyone is watching or listening. Marigold's mom, dad and sister are despicable in many ways and yet sadly they are all too familiar. Coma Girl is a compelling read with an ingenious plot, good writing, real characters and a emotionally jarring storyline. Nevertheless, I am glad that it is only a 6 part monthly series because otherwise given my disposition I know that I would soon tire of the format and stop reading it no matter how interesting the storyline. I look orward to discovering Marigold's ultimate Fate December 1, 2015. I pre-order each part.
